Join a Small Group

We offer 3 ongoing Sharing Groups that are open. Women group togther on Tuesdays at 2pm and 7:30pm (call the church for locations). Men group together on Wednesdays at 3:30pm (call the church for location).

The Study Group just started, "Heaven" using Randy Alcorn's book of the same name, meets Wednesday at 7:30 (1hr) at the church.

The Prayer Group meets Wednesday at the church at 6:45pm for a half hour of prayer for each other and the concerns of the weekly "Prayer Page".

Youth Group mets Sunday at 6:00 pm in Fellowship Hall. 

Expect Guests in February

Through the efforts of Steve Burris of Patterson-Woods Realtors we hope to welcome two other churches into our space beginning in February. While contracts are not finalized we are looking forward to a congregation using the second floor of Fellowship Hall and another congregation using the Sanctuary Sunday afternoons. Nueva Vida is considering moving all its ministries to the first floor of the Education Wing.

Hold these negotiations in prayer and watch for specific details of our new partners in ministry.

Finance Team Proposes Budget

The Finance Team met on January 10 and proposed a budget of $130,942 for 2012. The proposal will go to the Council on the 17th for action.

Included is a new line item of $7,841 to repay the endowment for money borrowed to repair the Custodian House. Shared Ministry (Apportionments), our share of the Conference work and ministry is decreased from $18,106 in 2011 to $15,850 in 2012, the result of our unique pastoral arrangement. The complete budget will be available to you after the Council acts on it next week. 

Nursery Helpers Needed:

We are looking for a few Nursery Helpers for the upcoming year. It is a small but important commitment of one Sunday every few months (depending on the number signed up.) If you are interested please check with the office.

Red Lion Discipleship Institute

After the new year we'll start new classes.

Let us know what you need to know and it will be arranged. A brochure with all the offerings is available from the office.

Our 2012 emphasis is small group ministry. We have four new groups and want every member in small group ministry.

Red Lion in Mission

We are moving toward our "Wilmington Project" - replacing a kitchen floor and kitchen remodeling for a family in need.

Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.

We had ambitious plans for 2011 - $40,553! and reached 98%

Our plan for 2012 is $34,904. We expect that to grow through the year.

Our team is gearing up for "Red Bird 2012"  to our Red Bird Mission in Beverly, Kentucky May 5-12. Talk to Eileen at the office for full details. Cost per person is about $500. We have eight tentatively signed up so far.
